Long ago, there lived a very lazy camel in the desert. If ever someone asked him to work, he would snort angrily and say, “Hump!” the other animals would get very annoyed at this. One day, they went to a wizard for help. “Why don’t you work?” asked the wizard. “Hump!” grunted the camel. Alas! To his utter amazement, he saw his back puffing up like a mountain. “Here’s your hump!” said the wizard. “From now on, you shall work in the desert without food and survive on your hump, because it’s full of fat which you can use as food!” said the wizard. Ever since then camels have humps on their backs.
