A hungry heron was walking along the banks of a river. His eyes were on the water to grab his prey. Suddenly, the heron saw a pike fish. But the heron turned up his nose and said, “No small fish for me. It is not fit for me.” Next, he saw another fish but turned up his nose at that as well. He said, “No indeed! I would not even trouble to open my beak for anything like that!” Soon, the sun rose high in the sky and the fish left the shallow water near the shore and swam below into the cool depths. Time passed by. The choosy heron could not find anything to eat. Finally, he was happy to see a tiny snail and filled his stomach with it. His desire to have the best had made him lose everything.
