Jilly was sleeping peacefully when something woke her up. It was the wind. Jilly got frightened. The wind was very fierce and seemed to shake the whole house. The windows were rattling. She called out scared, “Father! Mother!” Both parents came running to her room wondering what had happened. Father asked, “What is the matter, dear?” Jilly replied, “I am scared. What is this awful noise?” Father replied, “Oh! It is nothing but the wind. Do not be afraid. You know wind is very useful as well. We can find the direction of the wind by looking at the weather vane. You know, one day, I lost my way. It was only when I saw the weather vane did I find my home.” Jilly became relaxed after hearing all this. She never got frightened again.
