A man brought a dog as a pet. But unknown to him, the dog was very naughty. He used to bite the heels of whoever used to come to the house. Slowly, people stopped coming to the house. The man was very upset. So, one day, he tied a bell around the dog’s neck so that people might know of the dog’s whereabouts. But the dog took this action in another way. He felt very proud of the bell thinking it as a mark of distinction. Thus, he proudly went everywhere showing off his bell. One day, an old hound noticed this. He said to the dog, “Why are you showing off so much? That bell is nothing to be proud of. It is, on the contrary, a public notice to the people to avoid you as you are an ill-mannered dog.”
