Alif was a shepherd boy who worked for his master. His master was very cruel. He often used to beat Alif. Alif was very fond of playing the flute. When he played, all the animals of the jungle gathered around him. He loved the animals and the animals also loved him. Alif’s master often scolded him for playing his flute, “I have kept you for work, not for playing the flute.” One day, his master saw a rabbit in his dream. He wanted to have that rabbit. He ordered his sons to bring that rabbit from the jungle. If they failed to do so, he will not give them even a penny from his property. The master’s sons searched for the rabbit but they couldn’t find it. They asked the animals of the jungle but none of them told them about the rabbit. The animals, however, knew that where the rabbit was. Then the master asked Alif to play his flute. When Alif started playing his flute, all the animals including the rabbit, rushed out to meet him. Alif’s master realized his mistake. Now he knew what love could do.
