The Ruffed Lemur lives in the rainforest in Madagascar, an island just off the coast of Africa. It stays up high up in the tree away from its main killer, the fossa. There are two types of Ruffed Lemurs: the black-and-white and the red. Ruffed Lemurs are named after the ‘ruff’ of long hair that runs from the ears along the cheeks to beneath the chin. They live for up to 20 years in the wild.
