Where do Snails Live?

Snails belong to a group of molluscs known as Gastropods that have coiled shells. There are approximately 43,000 species of snails. Snails live under logs, rocks and other forest garbage. Some live on trees and in shrubs. Snails live in moist environment that generally includes forests, as well as marshes, ponds and wetlands. Aquatic Snails can be found in both freshwater and saltwater regions. Pond Snails that have gills to breathe in water live at the bottom of the pond. Land-dwelling Snails are found in gardens and field crops where vegetation is plenty and can be consumed.
