Sitting on top of Temple Mount in the old city of Jerusalem is the Golden Mosque. Inside the shrine is a huge stone with a hole. Under the stone lies a cave called the ‘Well of Souls’. It is believed that the souls of the dead wait for judgement day beneath this cave. You can hear a hollow sound when you tap or step on the floor of the cave. Some say it’s due to a chasm in the floor. Since no archaeological investigation of the place has been allowed, there is no way to know if there is, in fact, a chamber below.
