We Want a King

Samuel became a popular leader, who would not hesitate to help people find a better solution to their problems. He had four headquarters, which he would visit once in every year. As he grew old, people of Israel became worried about their security and safety. They wanted a King, who would protect and guide them always. Samuel was upset after knowing their intentions and spoke to God. He called for a meeting and explained the people about the ill-effects of having a King. Rather, he said, “Accept God to be your King as he will always help you in times of distress.” It had no impact on the people as they still wanted someone to be their King. God had always been generous to His people and conveyed a message through Samuel that their wishes would be granted.
