With a wingspan of 1.0-1.5 inches, this moth is pale in colour with brown streaks in between the veins. It has a gold/bronze coloured fringe. These moths are attracted to artificial lights. The larvae feed on various grasses, including wheat, rye, etc. On account of this very often they are considered as agricultural pests.
