True Love

The fourth wife of Indra, the ruler of the Heaven, was reincarnated as the Princess of the Asuras. Her good deeds let her change her fate and attain glory. After following the five moral precepts Panch Shila, she was reborn as a beautiful princess amongst the otherwise ugly Asuras. The king was happy with the beauty of his daughter. He thought, ‘Such rare beauty can only be a sign of good behaviour in her previous birth!’ The King of Asuras decided to let his daughter choose her own husband from amongst the Asuras. Indra disguised himself as an ugly Asura and thought, ‘If our love is true, then the princess will choose me.’ Without knowing his true identity, the princess was instantly attracted towards Indra. Hence, they got married and were united again for eternity.

Moral: Good deeds create bonds that last for a lifetime.
