Once, a lion and a tiger lived in a faraway forest. They had met when they were cubs and remained good friends. One day, they had an argument. The lion said, “The weather is becoming cooler. This is because of the moon fading and turning from a full moon to a new one.” The tiger looked up in dismay. He said, “O Lion! That is not correct. It is becoming cooler as the moon is increasing in size.” Soon, the argument turned to a big fight between the two friends. The lion and the tiger decided to meet a Bodhisattva who stayed in the forest. The Bodhisattva smiled at them and said, “Neither of you is wrong. It could be cold in any phase of the moon. It is the wind that brings the cold.” The lion and the tiger happily thanked the Bodhisattva and remained friends forever.
Moral: Arguments cannot end friendship if we are ready to listen.
