Once upon a time, some frogs were travelling through the village. Suddenly, two of them fell into a deep pit. The other frogs gathered around the pit and exclaimed, “It is not possible for them to come out. They will die there.” But the two frogs tried to jump out of the pit. The other frogs discouraged them. Finally, one of the frogs took the other frogs’ comments to heart. He gave up jumping. Within a short time, he died. However, the other frog continued to jump as hard as he could. Once again, the crowd of frogs yelled at him to stop trying and just give up. But the frog jumped even harder and finally came out of the pit. When he came out, the other frogs asked, “Did you not hear us?” The frog said, “I am partially deaf. I thought you were all encouraging me the entire time.”
