Larry was half asleep when he heard a beautiful voice singing. He woke up and looked outside the window. There was nobody. This was the fourth time in the same week that Larry had heard the voice. The next night, Larry decided to follow the sound. ‘It’s very intriguing,’ he thought. The singing led him far from his neighbourhood. Larry followed the voice to its source. He came to a pond and hid behind a bush. He saw a woman sitting near the pond, singing. Larry was mesmerised. Soon before he could realise, the singing stopped. The woman had disappeared. Larry went towards the pond and saw the tail of a huge fish. He saw woman’s eyes staring at him from beneath the water. The wind started blowing so hard that Larry had to run back home. The next day, when he came back, the pond had disappeared. The woman was nowhere in sight.
