The Proud Lion

The-Proud-Lion

Once, a lion was very proud and vain. He always roared to the other animals, “I am your King!” Once, he wore his fancy robes and all his gold and silver medals. He invited all the animals to admire them. So, all the animals came there. A tiny beetle was there too. She kept singing as she watched the lion, “I am small. I am little. People look down and can’t see me.” The lion commanded, “Tiny creature, bow before me!” The beetle said, “Your Majesty! I know that I am small, but if you look at me closely, you will see that I am bowing!” The lion immediately bent down to see the tiny beetle. But his robes and his many medals made him so heavy that he lost his balance. He fell over! All the animals started laughing. The embarrassed lion ran away. He was not so mighty, after all!
Moral: Never be boastful.
