The Power of Concentration

Once, Swami Vivekanand went to America. While travelling, Swamiji saw some boys trying to aim at something. He got down from the carriage to see what the boys were doing. The boys were trying to shoot at some floating eggshells in the river. But no one succeeded. One of the boys noted that Swamiji was watching them. He went to Swamiji and asked him to try shooting the eggshells. Swamiji agreed, at once. The boys were surprised when Swamiji succeeded in hitting the eggshells. He had aimed twelve times, and each time he had hit the eggshell. The boy who called Swamiji bowed and asked, “Swamiji, what is the secret behind your success?” Swami Vivekanand said, “Boys, there is no magic in this; it is the power of concentration. The more focussed your mind is, the more are the chances of success. If you focus, you will never miss the target.” The boys shook hands with Swamiji, as they learnt a great lesson of life that day.
