Lake Lagon is the deepest lake in the world. The Darkies, who are the biggest monsters known to man, live in Lake Lagon. They live deep down in the lake and avoid sunlight. They fear sunshine would kill them. Every Darkie is warned against sunlight early in his life. One day, a baby Darkie named Syllin swam up to the surface. He did not know of the Darkies’ problem with sunshine. His mother was yet to tell him about it. He enjoyed breathing in fresh air. He loved the feel of sunshine on his face. Strangely, Syllin neither fainted nor died. When Syllin’s mother found out about his adventure, she was furious. She warned him against going upwards again. However, Syllin disobeyed her and went up again and again. Soon, all the Darkies realised that there was nothing to fear from sunshine. Syllin had taught them not to believe a myth foolishly and suffer in the darkness of Lake Lagon.
