Once, a man was walking along the beach. While walking, he noticed that when the tide came, hundreds of starfish were washed up on the beach. Now, the man thought, ‘If these starfish remain here, they will die.’ So, he decided to do something to save the starfish. He picked one starfish and threw it into the water. After that he kept throwing the starfish one by one. Now, another man was curiously watching what the man was doing. He said, “There are hundreds of starfish. How many can you help? It is a futile effort on your part. Do not be foolish! What difference does it make?” At first the man kept quiet and picked another starfish and threw it into the water. Then he calmly replied, “It makes a difference to this one.” The second man realised this fact too. So, he too joined the man in throwing the starfish into the water.
Moral: Every small thing makes a difference.
