The Library

While exploring the new town, Albert saw a white building enclosed within a grove. He entered it and found himself in a library. “Can I help you?” Startled, Albert saw a thin, white man glaring at him. His canines protruded between his swollen lips. “Just looking,” said Albert, and he selected a book titled, Vampires and Ghosts. Albert wore his spectacles and began to read. The white man sat on a desk across him. ‘Vampires cannot be seen in mirrors or glasses,’ he read. Albert looked up. The thin man was not visible. He removed his spectacles. The man was sitting on his desk. Terrified, Albert said, “What do you want?” The man moved towards Albert. Albert’s silver cross glinted in the evening sunlight. It reflected on the man’s face. The man squirmed and vanished. Later, Albert learnt the library once belonged to Arius Cristo, who had been dead for a long time.
