The giants of Walcon were a simple bunch. They were gentle and harmless. They did not even know how strong they were! A clever fox from a forest near by made his way to Walcon. He looked at all the simple, strong giants and decided to make use of them. He ordered them to do things for him. He made them do his chores and make luxurious things for his use. He even made them hurt his enemies. The other animals in the forest were angry. They decided to turn the giants against the fox. They went to the giants and sang their praises. They carolled about the giants’ strength. They crooned about the giants’ foolishness in doing the fox’s bidding. They encouraged the giants to think independently. Slowly, the giants got the message. They began to think for themselves. They realised their strength. They started to use it to make their own lives better. They stopped serving the fox and chose a giant ruler.
