Once, a hungry fox was looking around for food in the forest. Soon, he came to a spot where people came for a picnic. The fox saw a family leaving the forest after their picnic. He walked over to where they had been sitting. In the hollow of a tree, he found some bread and meat. The fox was overjoyed. He climbed inside the hollow and had a hearty meal. Then, he fell asleep in the hollow. When he woke up, he tried to climb out of the hollow. But he could not climb out of the hollow, for he had eaten a lot and his stomach was now swollen. The fox began to cry in fear. A bird sitting on the tree said, “Do not cry, dear fox! Wait here until you are starving. Then you will be thin again and will be able to come out.”
