The Fox and the Lion

A lonely Fox roamed around the forest in search of food. But he was too fragile to hunt.
One day, the Fox got an idea. He went to the Lion and said, “Dear Mighty Lion, you are the king of the jungle. From now on, I am your servant. I will help you find prey.”
The Lion was impressed. He agreed with the Fox and said, “All right. We will catch the prey together. But I will eat the prey first. And I will give you whatever is left. You can eat that.”
The Fox was excited. From then on, every morning, the Fox and the Lion set out to hunt for food. The Fox had sharp eyes. He would easily spot the prey and tell the Lion. The Lion would then catch the prey and kill it. Every day, the Lion would finish his meal and then give whatever was left to the Fox.
For a few months, the Fox was happy. He did not have to hunt for his own food. But he started growing jealous of the Lion. He thought, ‘I do half the work. Then why does the Lion get to eat first? He eats all the meat and leaves me the bones. I will hunt for myself.’
Filled with pride, the Fox said to the Lion, “I will not hunt with you from now on.”

The Fox set out to find food the next morning. He went near the village and started looking for his prey. But to his dismay, he got caught by two huntsmen. The huntsmen beat the Fox to death.
