Tendon is a soft fibrous connective tissue which makes a link between the muscles and the other parts of the body, especially the bones. The main function of tendon in our body is to move the bone. The spindle-shaped fibrous tissues are called fibrocytes.

The collagenous fibres present in the tendons provide them with the strength which is required for the movement of the muscles.
