Once, the jealous Rajguru told the king that Tenali had a special stone called ‘Paras’ that can turn iron into gold. When inquired, Tenali understood that someone was trying to show him down.
He said ‘yes’ he had a stone. On being asked to prove it he said he would prove it next morning. Next day, he brought a street dog to the court with his tail in a pipe that made it look straight. On being asked he said that he was straightening his tail but the king got angry and said it was against the nature.
Tenali caught this word and observed how iron could change its nature and become gold with the touch of Paras.
The king understood the entire episode and rewarded Tenali.
