Tenali and the King’s Ire

Tenali-and-the-King's-Ire

Even though Raman was the king’s favourite court jester yet, one day, he was annoyed with Raman and told him to get out of his sight as he didn’t want to see his face.

This certainly shocked all the others present in the court and those who were jealous of Raman were overjoyed. On his instruction, Raman quietly left the court and entered the court with a pot covering his face and sat quietly on his seat. When the king came he was furious to see Raman again and shouted why Raman had come when he had asked not to show his face again.

To this Raman politely replied that he was obeying all the commands of the king and, hence, he had made only three holes in the pot two for eyes and one for the mouth so that the king might not see his face. On hearing this, the king burst out laughing and forgave him.
