The Spiš Castle is a beautiful large castle situated in the northwestern region of Eastern Slovakia. Built more than 900 years ago, the Spiš Castle was built over the site of an earlier castle. Considered an important part of the political and cultural affairs of the country, many families had owned the castle over the years. Perched atop a hill, this white splendour is a popular tourist attraction today with the exhibits of archaeological digs dating back from the Stone Age to the Middle Ages as well as being used as the shooting location for many Hollywood movies.
