After a long and tiring war, the people of Israel wanted to rest and live life peacefully. They headed towards the Canaan and choose to lead a peaceful life. God had chosen Joshua, who was the best for this task. Also, he was accompanied by priests, efficient leaders and members of twelve tribes. As per the Lord, the Israel people of the twelve tribes were the descendants of Jacob and Sarah. The names of the tribes were Reuben and Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulon, Benjamin, Dan Naphtali, and Gad and Asher. Instead of Joseph his two sons Ephraim and Manasseh were included. The same was the case with Levis, as he didn’t come to Joshua for land. The other problem was if the land was given to them for farming, then they would ignore the service to the Lord. Joshua had a tough time in sharing the piece of land, as some of the places were rich and others were not. The distribution was done to the satisfaction of the tribes.
