Seahorses

Once, there lived a seahorse in the sea. His name was Rony. There lived many fish as well. All the fish had bright colours, swishy tails and fins. But, Rony did not fit in with the rest of the fish. He had a fin and he could blow bubbles, but he did not have bright colours or swishy tail. Other fish swam past and whispered things to one another. “Rony is different.” “Look at Rony’s nose. It is enormous!” Rony ignored them, though he was lonely and wished he had a friend. One day, Rony smiled. When the fish swam in for a closer look, they noticed dozens of tiny seahorses darting in and out of Rony’s pouch. One of the fish asked, “What are those and where did you get them? The mothers take care of the babies, not the fathers.” Rony lifted his long snout. “Not if you are a seahorse. Fathers take care of the babies.” From then on, the fish came to play with the babies and became friends with Rony.
