San Jacinto Monument

The San Jacinto Monument is built in Harris County, Texas, United States, between 1936 and 1939. The San Jacinto Monument was built to honour the battle of San Jacinto, which played an instrumental role in the Texas Revolution. At 172.92 metres in height, the monument is the world’s tallest masonry column. The octagonal shaped column is made of reinforced concrete and topped with a 10-metre high Lone Star symbol.

Amazing Fact: The San Jacinto Museum of History is situated at the base of the monument.
