The leaves are borne alternately on the stem. Foliage is glossy, dark green. The plant features profuse clusters of fragrant, crimson red, single flowers with white eyes. The plant blooms from late spring to frost. Roses are best known as ornamental plants grown for their flowers in the garden and sometimes indoors. They have been also used for commercial perfumery and commercial cut-flower crops.
