Neptune and the Palace of Versailles

The Palace of Versailles, popularly known as Chateau de Versailles, was built between 1661 and 1710 in France. The Palace is comprised of the King’s Apartment, Queen’s Apartment, and Hall of Mirrors, Chapels of Versailles, Royal Opera and the Garden of Versailles that included beautiful fountains. In the 19th century, many rooms were taken over so as to create the ‘Museum of the History of France’.

Amazing Fact: The Palace of Versailles was initially built only as a hunting lodge using stone and brick, for Louis XIII. Louise XIV later enlarged it into a palace.
