A monk took care of a garden in a famous monastery. Just next to the monastery was another smaller monastery. An old master lived there. One day, some special guests were supposed to visit the big monastery. So, the monk spent a lot of time pulling out the weeds, trimming the shrubs, and arranging the dry leaves. The old master was watching him from across the wall. After the monk had finished, he asked the old master, “Isn’t it looking beautiful?” “There is something missing,” said the old master, and he added, “Help me over this wall.” He then jumped over the wall with the help of the monk. The old master walked towards a tree in the centre of the garden, grabbed the trunk and began shaking the tree. As the leaves showered over the garden, the old master said, “Now, it’s looking beautiful.”
Moral: Beauty is in Nature, not in perfection.
