9-20 mm in length, the potter wasp feeds on flower nectar and also collects caterpillars so as to feed on their blood. This wasp stings its prey and paralyzes it before taking it back to its next. The female collects the caterpillars in her nest. She lays a single egg above the food provision suspended by a thread.
