Machu Picchu is an ancient Incan citadel set in the Andes. It is located in the Andes Mountain, in the Cusco Region in Peru. It was built around 1450.

Why it is special: A symbol of Incas civilization, Machu Picchu was built in classical Inca style with dry-stone walls. A major tourist attraction, Machu Picchu has three primary structures known as the Inti Watana, the Temple of the Sun and the Room of the Three Windows.
