Loudspeaker

The loudspeaker is essentially a device which is used to take electrical stimulation to convert it into sound. The modern loudspeaker’s idea came into existence in the year 1898, by an English scientist named Oliver Lodge who was by luck the second to get a patent for the loudspeaker. The first to get the patent on record was Ernst Siemens who got it on 14 December, 1877. However, this loudspeaker was not suitable for modern music listeners who wanted something better in terms of audio quality.

The next patent was of a completely modern radiator based moving coil loudspeaker, which was invented by researchers at the General Electric in the year 1924. They were Chester W. Rice and Edward Kellogg, who smartly designed low noise distortion and uniform frequency loudspeakers, which were the only quality speakers in the 1920s. These speakers were sold under the name of Radiola. The quality of loudspeakers has been improvising from then on till date.
