Soon King David came to know about his son’s intention of becoming King. He was sad, but wanted to avoid bloodshed. He asked a few of his trusted men to follow him so that they might leave the city soon. He knew that some of his own followers were now supporting his son, and was quite upset about it. He asked his men to take away the golden chest, as it had to be safe. David then made plots to check what his son was intending to do, and instructed his men to do so before leaving the place.
