The killer whale lives in family groups called pods, feeding onfish, seals, mammals, sea birds and sea turtles. It has a black back,white chest and sides, a large dorsal fin and strong teeth covered inenamel. They grow up to 5-8 metres long and weigh 3-6 tonnes. Their lifespanis 50 years for females and 29 years for males.
