Impatient David

Impatient-David

Little David was impatient and hasty. His mother always taught him to be calm and patient but he never listened to her. One evening, David’s grandfather came for a visit. So, David’s mother was busy preparing dinner for the family. David requested, “Mom, will you please make my favourite green peas soup tonight?” “Sure, dear!” said his mother, and she began preparing the soup. But David was getting impatient and very eager to taste it. “David, don’t touch the soup kettle. It’s very hot and you will burn your fingers,” warned his mother. But David quietly picked the lid of kettle up to see if the soup was ready. But the hot water droplets inside the lid fell on his fingers. He screamed with pain, “Mom, please help me. I have burnt my hand.” David’s mother came running and applied an ointment on his fingers. After David had felt better, he promised his mother that he would never be hasty or impatient.
