Long ago, in the time of the Buddha, people were very curious to know about him. They wondered if he was a god or a special human. Then, one day, they decided to ask the Buddha himself. So, several men collected together and asked the Buddha, “Are you a god?” The Buddha replied, “No.” “Are you God’s reincarnation?” “No,” replied the Buddha again. “Maybe, you are a wizard then,” they said. The Buddha again said, “No.” Puzzled, the men asked, “Who are you then?” “I am awake,” said the Buddha. Then the Buddha explained that the name ‘Buddha’ means ‘The Awakened or Enlightened One.’ The Buddha always taught men to awaken within. He taught them to be aware of their true beings and not be taken up by the outer materialistic world.
Moral: Always be awake and aware of your true self.
