Hyenas are a dog-like species of mammals that can adapt to a number of environments. They are carnivores and usually feed on wildebeests, monkeys and birds, and often feed on other animals’ kill rather than catching their own prey. There are four different species of hyenas that have a black, brown or tan fur. They have an average life span of 20-25 years.
