Once, Birbal was on holiday. That day, his son told him, “Father, please come with me to the park! My friends and I want to play with you!” Birbal went with his son and began playing with all the children. After some time, a courtier passed by. He saw Birbal playing like a child among other children. He went near Birbal and said, “Birbal, I am shocked to see you here. Such pastimes do not suit your age and position.” Birbal looked around the park and saw a bow. He picked it up and went to the courtier. Then he said, “Look at this bow. If it is always strained, it will lose its elasticity. We should let it free sometimes so that it may stay in use. Similarly, all work and no play will make us dull.” The courtier said, “I too want to join in the fun and games!”
