After parting ways with Jonathan, David was wondering where he should go for safety. At no point he could go back to his family or palace. With no food and weapons he felt helpless, but then remembered about the priest in Noah, who believed in God. He went there and they were surprised to see him. At once he was asked by the priests where his army was, and he lied to them. David asked them to give him food, as he was very hungry. The priests gave him the holy bread that was kept for the priests. He asked for a weapon, and the priests gave him the sword of Goliath, the giant whom he had killed. Ahimelech was one of the priests who unwrapped the sword and gave it to David. There was someone else who was watching him.
