Fight is Never Right

Alfie and Cody were good friends. One day, they were walking along the road. The road had apple trees on both sides. After walking for a while, they found ripe apples lying on the road. They divided the apples among them. One sunny morning, Alfie and Cody headed towards the pond. On reaching the pond, they saw a nice fishing rope lying by its side. Both of them wanted to have it. Unlike the apples, the rope could not be divided into two, and they started fighting for it. Alfie held it from one end and Cody from the other. They started pulling the rope. Suddenly, the rope broke off from the middle. Alfie fell into the mud and Cody into the pond. A passerby was watching all this. He said to them, “Fighting for a thing always gives bad results.” Alfie and Cody felt ashamed of themselves and promised each other, not to fight.
