It has a remarkably long tail measuring between 18-31cm, and ears that can measure up to half its body size. The fox has a thick cream-coloured fur which keeps the fox cool during the day and warm at night. It is an omnivore and its diet consists mainly of rodents, insects, birds, eggs and plants. It is the national animal of Algeria.
