Europe is the second smallest continent on Earth. Europe and Asia share the same landmass. But because this landmass is so large, geographers have separated this huge landmass into two continents.

Location: Northern hemisphere

Major countries: Norway, Sweden, Finland, Russia, Germany, Poland, Spain, France, Italy, Turkey, Hungary and Bulgaria
Important physical features:

Mountains: The Alps, Pyrenees, Apennines and Balkans, helped to create defensible borders between areas

Rivers: Danube, Rhine, Rhone, Loire, Elbe, Vistula and Volga

Seas: Mediterranean, Baltic, North, and Black Seas

Major languages: Danish, Dutch, English, German, Swedish, French, Italian, Portuguese and Romanian

Eurasia is the combined name of two continents, Europe and Asia. Sometimes, they are referred as a single continent ‘Eurasia’.
