Soon David and his four hundred men started following him. On the way they saw a boy who was lying down lifeless on the sideway of the road. He was not dead, but quite hungry. His men took him and fed him food and water, which brought life back into the boy. On being asked who he was, the boy replied that he was a member of the team who raided the Ziklag. David asked the boy if he could lead them to the place where the raiders were. The boy promised on a condition that David would not hand over him to his master. Once they reached the place they took back everything from the Amalekites, including the good things and children and wives. When his men refused to return back the good things, David convinced them and asked to share everything as God had blessed them with this victory.
