Interesting fact : Due to its diet which consists of bamboo plant, especially the ornamental kind, this bug is known as the ‘bamboo moth’.

The caterpillar of the bamboo moth looks weird with a yellow body speckled with black spots and urticating hair all over the body, which has been known to cause rashes on human beings. The caterpillar grows as long as 17 mm in length. After feeding on bamboo leaves, the caterpillar crawls towards other plants and houses.
