Brakes!

Sheila was driving to work one day, when a truck suddenly cut into her path. To avoid collision, she quickly applied the brakes. But her car did not slow down! Her brakes had failed! Quickly, Sheila manoeuvred her car and narrowly avoided hitting the truck. She tried to slow the car by lowering the gears, but still the car rolled on. Then she had the idea of switching off the ignition entirely. Surely that would make the car stop! Unfortunately, the road was on an incline, and her car picked up speed as it rolled downhill. Her heart was in her mouth as she saw some school children crossing the road just metres ahead. Sheila swerved to avoid hitting them, driving right onto the grassy bank of the road and into a tree. She had never been so relieved to hit a tree in her life!
