The bluefin tuna, the largest of the tunas, is prized for sushi and has 3 species : Atlantic (Thannus thynnus), Pacific (Thannus orientalis) and Southern (Thannus maccoyii). They can swim up to 60 metres per hour and can dive more than 4,000 feet. They hunt by sight feeding on fish like herring, mackerel and even eels. Their lifespan is 33 years.
