Once, a rich man was addicted to gambling. He used to play dice with his friend. However, his friend was a trickster. Whenever he started losing, he would secretly put the dice in his mouth and claim it was lost. Thus, the game would have to be stopped. The honest rich man had noticed his friend’s trick and decided to teach him a lesson. He smeared a bitter potion on the dice and let it dry, so it could not be seen. The next time when the friend sneaked the dice into his mouth, he almost fainted. The rich man fed the trickster friend a mixture of butter, palm syrup, honey and cane sugar to make him feel better. The trickster was embarrassed and he promised never to deceive his friend again. Just then, a monk came and told them the harm of gambling. Both friends understood the harm of gambling and gave it up completely
Moral: Never deceive anyone, especially a friend who knows you well.
